Police in the Ashanti Region are investigating the death of a 23 year old student of the Oyoko School of Dispensing Optics.

A young man identified as Kwabena Asumadu was allegedly shot dead by unknown gunmen after he dropped off a friend at Sofoline at around 11 pm on Tuesday.

Details on his death are still not clear but reports coming show Kwabena was shot multiple times as he drove an unregistered Mercedes-Benz.

The assailants did not touch anything else in the car after shooting.

Family and friends are mourning the young man, and one of the friends took to social media to break the news by saying;

Kwabena was a calm and reliable friend. He didn’t have qualms with anyone because he is some who immediately apologizes to people he offends. We just can’t understand why someone will do something like this to him. We are pained, but God knows best.

So far no arrest has been made but police are relying on the footages from a CCTV camera close to the scene to conduct their investigations.

Kwabena’s body is now at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital morgue for autopsy.
