Popular Canadian singer, Celine Dion, has been out of public view for a while, and this worried her fans across the world. Breaking the silence, Celine has disclosed she is battling a rare neurological disorder called the Stiff-Person syndrome.
It is a ‘one in a million’ life-changing condition and this explains Celine’s absence from the public.
The singer had European tour scheduled for February 2023 but due to this disease, she has postponed it till further notice.
Sharing her statement on her Instagram post;
I’ve been dealing with problems with my health for a long time, and it’s been really difficult for me to face these challenges and to talk about everything that I’ve been going through…It hurts me to tell you that I won’t be ready to restart my tour in Europe in February.
The singer also explained further in a video where she said;
Unfortunately, these spasms affect every aspect of my daily life sometimes causing difficulties when I walk and not allowing me to use my vocal cords to sing the way I’m used to.
This disease causes the body muscles to constrict, and it worsens over time where it finally turns a person to look like a statue. Hence, one experiences difficulties to move.
The singer has announced that she has a great team of doctors and her close family is there to support her.
In 2016, Celine lost her husband, Rene Angelil, to cancer, and her brother, Daniel Dion, forcing her to take a break for almost a year. She later released an album, ‘Courage’ in 2019 which had great songs like StarGate, Sam Smith and many others.
