China, for years, has been one of the countries in the world successfully enacting serious measures to have full control of its citizens through the use of technology. The recent development, according to reports, involves mind-reading, which aims at banning pornography consumption. China has developed a device which can read people’s minds and detect whether a man has watched pornography or not. Pornography viewing is illegal in China and the government is putting all measures possible to crackdown porn consumption.
NYPost report show that Chinese researchers claim to have an official patent for a device that can read a man’s mind and detect when he is watching pornography. The prototype of the device is reported to have an ability of detecting human brain waves that are activated immediately a man starts viewing pornography. 15 male college students were used in this research whereby they were placed in front of a screen playing pornography while having the device on their head.
As one watches, the mind reader device will process videos and photos and flag suspicious content.
According to Xu Jianjun, who is the brain behind this research and also the director of the electrical engineering department at Beijing Jiaotong University, the main purpose of this mind-reading device is to detect bad information. The researcher further said that the device’s results are 80 % accurate. The device not only detects bad information but can also filter out additional signals that may trigger brainwaves especially when emotions are emitted from non-porn content.
