Christian Atsu reportedly trapped under rubble after earthquake in Turkey

One of strongest earthquakes hit Turkey and Syria earlier today claiming more than 1500 of lives and others left with severe injuries.

Former Black Stars winger Christian Atsu is reportedly missing in Turkey after the earthquake happened in the region.

Eurofootcom has reported that the Hatayspor player and club director Tanur Savut have been left under the rubble.

As the search operations rescue some of the teammates, reports say that Christian Atsu and Savut could not be found.

The earthquake hit the region at around 4 a.m on Monday morning through Turkey and Syria, sending tremors as far as Israel and Lebanon.

The 7.8 magnitude quake was 14.2 miles east of Nurdagi, Gaziantep province, Turkey and 14.9 miles depth according to United States Geological Survey (USGS).

The Ghanaian football star came from the bench to score the winner for Hatayspor in the Turkish league last night.
