Former Black Stars Player Abu Imoro Passes Away

Former Black Stars midfielder Abu Imoro has been confirmed dead. The president of the Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG), Anthony Baffoe, made the announcement today June 28, 2022 confirming the ex-footballer’s death. According to Mr. Baffoe, the retired footballer, Imoro, died on Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at 3 p.m in Accra.

Sharing his post;

Abu Imoro ”Tigana” is no more amongst us.. he died 1 hour ago… May his soul rest in perfect peace. Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi rajiun Surely we belong to Allah and to him shall we return. Rest well Abu.

Abu was a star for Real Tamale United and Great Olympics. In 1980, he joined Black Stars where he got even more popular. He later got into hard drugs which ruined his life not only financially but also his health. His former player maters came to his rescue and sent him to rehabilitation center and he successfully recovered. Abu Imoro will be remembered for his great football skills. May his soul rest in peace.
