A 27 year old Ghanaian lady will spend 10 years in prison in hard labour for killing her lover over grasscutter soup.
Her Ladyship Justice Mavis Akua Ando, at the High Court in Sunyani, found the 27 year old lady, Hilda Asumani Embro guilty of the crime and sentenced her.
The convict, Asumani, who is a resident of Abesim in the Sunyani Municipality of the Bono Region, stabbed her 30-year old lover, Prince Yaw Aboagye in his neck and chin area, causing him to bleed to death.
Asumani had prepared grasscutter soup for the whole family but her lover ate all of it alone, an act which made her really unhappy.
She couldn’t control the anger over grasscutter soup, hence she used scissors to stab her lover to death.
Asumani and Aboagye had dated for six years before the sad ending.
According to family reports, the two have had misunderstandings in the recent past but their immediate families always helped them resolve and they resumed their relationship.
