Deputy President William Ruto has been declared the winner of the Kenyan presidential election.
Ruto has been elected as the fifth president of Kenya according to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) succeeding outgoing President Uhuru Kenyatta who did not support his candidacy.
His political rival Raila Odinga and his coalition rejected the results even before the announcement, which turned the tallying center into chaos for minutes.
The country’s electoral commission has also split over the results of the country’s election as four of the IEBC commissioners disowned the IEBC Chairman’s Wafula Chebukati’s results. The four commissioners have announced this few minutes before IEBC Chairman declared William Ruto as the presidents.
Raila Odinga has now lost for the fifth time in the Kenyan presidential election.
