A man has died after engaging in a fight with a commercial driver’s mate over a GHC 2 increment.
The incident happened at Lapaz bus terminal yesterday on Saturday 29 at around 8:00 pm.
According to witnesses, the deceased boarded the vehicle from Lapaz heading to Pokuase and was told the fare had been increased from GHC 5.50 to GHC 7.70.
Immediately after the fare increment announcement , all passengers complained but they later agreed the fare changes except the deceased who continued to grumble and refused to pay the new fare.
The driver got angry and returned the passengers to Lapaz bus terminal where had picked them up.
The deceased continued complaining which annoyed the driver and his mate, and this led to several exchange of blows.
The deceased was punched in the face unaware, which made him fall and hit his head on the pavement, leading to his death.
The body has been deposited at the morgue and so far the Police haven’t said anything on this incident.
