Akyem Anyinasim Methodist Junior High School in Abuakwa North Municipality in the Eastern region has been closed by the Ghana Education Service after hooligans forced a teacher to kneel to students.

Reports by starrfm.com.gh show that a gang of hooligans forced one of this school’s teachers to kneel and apologise to students after punishing them.

The teacher punished the students on Monday, July 24, 2022, and this left them unhappy.

The students later reportedly complained to a group of hooligans within their town who then accosted the teacher while on his way home from school.

The incident attracted the attention of the Municipal Directorate of Education in Abuakwa North, who visited the school on Thursday, July 28.

Sharing the Municipal Director’s statement;

The students misbehaved and the teachers tried to correct them but they went to inform the town folks so it was the town folks who threatened the teachers. So I gave instruction that the school be closed down today so that we sit on the issue. It is still under investigation.
