Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo has been ranked among the highest paid presidents not only in West Africa, but also entire Africa.
A report by Business Insider says Nana Addo is the 3rd highest paid in West Africa after his Ivorian and Liberian counterparts, Alassane Ouattara and George Weah respectively.
He is also ranked the thirteenth (13th) highest paid President in Africa this year (2022).
Business Insider reports say Nana Addo’s annual earnings at US $76,000, which means per month he gets US $6,300.
Other presidents like Nigeria’s Muhammadu Buhari earn US $69,000 annually, Malawi’s Lazarus Chakwera US $76,000, and etc.
Statement by Business Insider says;
One thing of concern is that the annual salaries of most leaders are well above the country’s GDP per capita or average wages. This is why many young citizens are curious to discover how much African leaders earn so that they can compare their pay packets with the average salaries and GDPs of other respective countries.
