Thirty four (34) prostitutes have been arrested in Tema after the Tema Regional Police Command organized an intelligence-led operation.
The prostitutes were rounded up at Subon Valley at Community Seven 7, in the Sabrina Hotel area at Site 17 Community one and also in Viena City and Datus area in Community 8.
Confirmed reports show that the commercial s3x workers were made up of Ghanaians, Liberians and Nigerian nationalities.
The suspects allegedly stand in various joints of the metropolis to target potential clients, men, and signal them to patronize their services.
They were charged this offence, arraigned and later the court granted each of them bail of GHC5k.
The 34 suspects are to appear in court on March 15 to continue with the trial proceedings.
Prostitution is illegal in Ghana but authorities have been reluctant on this matter, hence s3x workers parade the streets at night soliciting clients to patronize their services.
