The President of Ghana, Nana Addo Akufo-Addo, has left Accra, Ghana to attend the 15th Edition of the European Development Days Forum in Brussels, Belgium. According to the official statement from the Office of the President, Mr. President is also expected to attend 26th Meeting of the Heads of Government of the Commonwealth of Nations in Kigali, Rwanda.
The Brussels meeting is organized by the European Commission with the aim of bringing key factors together to share ideas that will inspire more innovative solutions and partnerships. As a result, this may reduce the most pressing challenges globally. President Akufo-Addo will be among the 11 leaders speaking at the opening ceremony of the European Development Days Forum.
On Wednesday, 22nd June, President Akufo-Addo will be in Kigali, Rwanda for Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM). In this meeting, Commonwealth leaders will reaffirm their common values and share actions and polices that will improve living standards of citizens. While in Kigali, Mr. President will also attend groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of mRNA vaccine factor. Among those who accompanied the President are Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey and other officials from foreign and presidency ministry.
President Akufo-Addo is expected to return to Ghana on Saturday, 25th June. The Vice President, Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, shall be in charge of the country in the absence of the President.
