Residents of Ampabame No-1 in Ashanti Region cannot use their 32 seater public because river gods have demanded for 5 human beings as sacrifice before re-opening the facility.
A priestess serving the Tano gods, guardians of the Bomofia stream, which is close to the public toilet facility, said that the gods are not happy because the residents of this area keep dumping refuse in the nearby water body. For this reason, the gods want 5 human beings as a sacrifice. The gods are also not happy with the sitting of the toilet’s septic tank.
Speaking with the Myjoyonline.com, the area assembly man, Richard Ofosuhene, confirmed the closure of the toilet. He said the demands from gods forced the elders to close the toilet for now. He further said that he intends to work with the area elders to perform the necessary rituals so as to open the toilet.
Sharing Ofosuhene’s statement;
We have heard her, we cannot abandon the facility, so we will do the needful to re-commission it.
