Two teenage girls, identified as Yvonne and Esther, have been killed at Okrakwado in the Okere district of the Eastern Region.

Their bodies were found along the Koforidua-Adukrom road with severe head injuries on Tuesday dawn.

The two girls, who were both junior high school students allegedly left their homes to visit their boyfriends and according to residents, they were killed at dawn and their bodies deposited at the roadside.

One of the resident, an Okada rider, Akrasi Eric, arrived at the scene shortly after they heard noise only to find the bodies.

The Okada driver said;

We heard a loud noise from a Sprinter bus at dawn. The driver rushed to tell us that, he saw two female teenagers lying lifeless. Their heads were crushed, but their bodies were intact.

I doubt if it was a car that knocked them down but no one knows what happened.

The Assembly Members for the area, Michael Gadasu, confirmed the unfortunate News to media by saying;

There were no marks of injuries on their bodies to suggest that they jumped out of a moving vehicle. Besides that, they were arranged beside each other so we suspect they were killed and dumped.

One of the girls’ uncle said;

We do not know what happened, we just heard about it and rushed to the hospital. They died upon reaching the hospital. We have reported to the police, but won’t believe any story that they were hit by a vehicle.

The families of the deceased are now waiting for autopsy reports. They said they are suspecting foul play based on the text messages they saw on the deceased phones.
