President Nana Addo thinks there is a need to have a broader conversation on the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy.

Nana Addo has disclosed that some powerful Ghanaians are against the Free SHS, yet this is a good policy.

He said this while addressing the leadership of the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS).

Sharing his statement;

One of the things people have been calling for is the review of Free SHS, I think we should have a broader conversation about the incidence of education on our national development.

President Nana Addo introduced Free SHS policy in September 2017 for both boarding and day students.

Since then, SHS policy has been receiving applauses and commendations from sector stakeholders and experts, and for this reason, it cannot be politically motivated because it should be reviewed by the mentioned authorities.

Among the authorities supporting review of the policy, the Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES), Prof. Kwasi Opoku Amankwah.
